Of course we can not truly know how someone else is feeling or what they are thinking…but if we look for the clues, (body language and facial expressions), we can usually get pretty close.
I love the idea of asking students what they can “do.” Often times they will say, “nothing” or “what do you mean?, what’s there to do?”
This is where some great conversation can come in. You can always do something, to show someone else you care, to help someone or to appreciate them, even if it is just a small gesture.
This Perspective Taking Comic Strip Style Activity may be just the thing to get your students really enjoying working on this challenging skill.
